See the working-day total update as dates and range rules change.
Use Monday-Friday, Monday-Saturday, or a full seven-day week.
Exclude unique in-range holidays only when they fall on working days.
Set the boundaries, apply the correct weekly schedule, then remove only the holidays that belong to the counted period.

Start with the exact dates that bound the period. The start date is included automatically, while the end date can be switched on or off to match the way a deadline, leave period, or project window is defined.
Keep the range in chronological order. If the end date comes before the start date, the calculator pauses the total and shows the date error instead of returning a misleading negative value.
ExampleAugust 1 through August 31 contains 31 calendar dates when both ends are included.
Choose a date range
A standard Monday-Friday schedule removes Saturdays and Sundays. The other modes support seven-day operations or a Monday-Saturday week that treats only Sunday as a scheduled day off.
This choice is applied to every date in the range before custom holidays are deducted. Use the schedule that governs the specific team, service, or deadline rather than assuming every business follows the same week.
ExampleA complete seven-day span normally contains five workdays on a Monday-Friday schedule.
Select a working week
Add the dates that are non-working holidays for your calendar. The result panel shows the original number of calendar days, scheduled days off, and holidays removed, so the final working-day count can be audited without manual recounting.
A holiday reduces the total only once and only if it was otherwise a working day. This prevents duplicate dates and holidays that fall on weekends from lowering the answer incorrectly.
Example23 weekdays minus one weekday holiday equals 22 working days.
Calculate hours within a workdayChoose the first and last date in the period, then decide whether the last date should be counted. Select the workweek that matches the schedule: Monday through Friday, all seven days, or Monday through Saturday. The result updates immediately whenever an input changes.
Add any public holidays, company shutdown dates, or other non-working dates that apply. The calculator removes a custom holiday only when it is inside the counted range and would otherwise be a working day, so a Saturday holiday is not deducted twice from a Monday-Friday schedule.
Working days equal calendar days in the range minus scheduled days off minus valid custom holidays. Scheduled days off are determined by the selected workweek. For a standard Monday-Friday week, Saturdays and Sundays are removed before holidays are checked.
The calculation operates on calendar dates rather than elapsed hours. That keeps a date range stable across daylight-saving changes and time zones. No time of day is attached to the start date, end date, or holiday entries.
From August 1 through August 31, 2022, there are 31 calendar days. With a Monday-Friday workweek and the end date included, eight weekend days are removed, leaving 23 working days before any custom holidays.
If one weekday in that month is entered as a holiday, the result becomes 22. A holiday entered on Saturday or Sunday does not change the standard weekday result because that date was already outside the selected workweek.
Include the end date when both boundary dates belong to the period, such as counting staffing days from the first day of a project through its final working day. In this mode, a one-day range on a weekday returns one working day.
Exclude the end date when it represents a deadline, return date, or boundary that is not part of the available work period. A range with the same start and end date returns zero when the end date is excluded.
Holiday calendars differ by country, state, province, organization, and year, so this calculator does not guess which dates apply. Enter only the dates relevant to the schedule you are checking. You can add up to 50 holiday rows and remove any row that is no longer needed.
Repeated holiday dates are deducted once. Dates before the start, after the effective end, or on a scheduled day off remain visible in the form but do not reduce the result. This makes it possible to paste in a broader holiday list without silently double-counting days.
The result is date arithmetic, not a legal deadline or payroll determination. It does not automatically load public holidays, substitute observance dates, partial working days, rotating shifts, local filing rules, or emergency closures.
Confirm the applicable calendar and inclusion rule before relying on the result for contracts, court filings, benefits, shipping commitments, payroll, or compliance. When a rule refers to business days, verify which weekends and holidays that rule recognizes.
